Not so Peachy
Add some tears, a lot of tears, and this would be the face that was staring back at me this morning as I was shutting the door to her daddy’s truck. Poor little Peach had to go to school with out her side kick this morning and she was broken hearted. I was broken hearted. Her daddy was broken hearted. I hated to have to send her off but she wasn’t running a fever and was all chipper and excited this morning. Until she found out she was going to school with out her Bubba. I hope she does okay. This is going to be the longest day for me; wondering how she is doing. This day I will be counting down the hours until it’s time for pick up. My sweet Peach. Being a parent is tough sometimes.

She’s a little green today
This is the look I give myself (except that I don’t eat green marker) when I think about the terrible job I have been doing at blogging. Lets face it, I really fell off the band wagon. There for a while I felt like I needed to focus much more attention on the kids and the house than the blog. I am a slow blogger most of the time. And I can waste hours writing two paragraphs. But I do feel guilty for not blogging at least 2 sentences about Olivia every week over the last couple months. I didn’t even write her a letter on her birthday. Tsk Tsk.
Now that James and Audrey (the soul eaters) are in school every day, all day, I plan on being a blogging mom again. A real one. Ok, in all reality it will probably be part time but I did make a vow to myself that I will start recording her day to day activities just like I did with the twins. She is really a hoot these days and I don’t want to forget a moment of it!! And since the twins are in school all day, every day (did I mention that??!!) I feel like things are different and I can manage my time more wisely. I will devote a whole blog post to my feelings on the twins being gone all day in school.

A new chapter
James and Audrey start Pre-K tomorrow. TOMORROW our lives change forever as we enter into the world of public school and join the rat race of car lines and field trips with the rest of society. Gone forever are the lazy mornings and the all day play of dress up in super hero, cowboy and princess costumes. Gone forever. They may as well be graduating high school tomorrow as far as I am concerned. I can’t believe that their time is here. 5 years seems like such a long time day after day after day but now that it’s here, I feel like I blinked and woke up the day before they start school. Is this real life?
While I am loosing two at one time I am so glad they have each other. And I am so glad they are so close. James is pumped, ready to go and has been for weeks!! Audrey has been excited but reserved. Claiming that she is going to miss me so much. (I can’t argue with that) But today we went to Open House and they got to see their class room, meet a few class mates and “meet” their teacher. Mrs. Ponder is a member at one of our sister church’s in the area so they have been seeing her and knowing her on a regular basis their whole life. I am so thankful that they have her for their first year. For their initiation, if you will, into the world away from home. Away from me, the woman who loves them most in this world. I know she will treat them kindly and have a great deal of patience with them. Lord knows she is going to need it!
After we left the school today Audrey was as pumped about it as James!! That makes me feel better. Another wonderful thing about the school they are going to is that Jon teaches there. He will be just a few steps away if any thing serious ever happens. And there are so many wonderful people who teach in the elementary that we know and love and that know and love our children! I couldn’t have picked a better place for my babies to start their school career. I am excited and sad all at the same time. I am excited for them, they are really gonna love it and have so much fun and learn so much. But I am sad for myself. Part of me is “leaving the nest” tomorrow. All our nurturing and teaching the last 5 years is about to come into play. And I just hope and pray that Jon and I have done a good enough job preparing them. For their sakes. And I hope and pray that Jon and I will have the wisdom to guide them in right paths in this new chapter of their precious little lives.

Chicken
Being twins these two know how to make the most of their daddy’s shoulders. And one of their favorite things to do is to both get on those shoulders and play chicken. Yes, they try and throw each other off. It’s hilarious to watch!

Making up for lost time
The Summer is always a busy time but it seems like we are making up for all the sitting at home we did last Summer since Olivia was newly born! We haven’t stopped since school let out. The first week I painted two bedrooms up stairs. The next week Jon and I went for a little get away down to Orlando for a few days and man did we ever have a blast!! Audrey had her ballet recital the day after we got home and we had a church meeting going on in the area that we attended. My sister and her family came down for a visit on Sunday night and just left this afternoon and we didn’t stop going the whole time they were here! Our annual meeting at Tired Creek is this weekend, we have company coming for a meeting next weekend and then my daddy and step mom are coming for a few days. THEN we are going to Alabama for a few days. THEN we are spending a week at the beach. THEN we are spending a week in New Orleans.....shew. I’m tired already. But, the good Lord willing we will make some wonderful, precious memories during the Summer of 2012. We already have!

Summertime is HERE!
I know that no body much reads my blog any more since I made it private. BUT I keep reminding myself that my main purpose for blogging is to document my children’s lives so that they can go back and read about their childhood. Yes, that is why.
Yesterday was Olivia’s first time in a kiddie pool and even though it ended up being a disaster in the end thanks to her older sister not being able to handle the fact that is was going to be a little different this year in the fact that they couldn’t fill the pool up, Olivia enjoyed her self immensely! I did give them the option of jumping in the sprinkler but she was just fixated on filling that pool up so we eventually went in and Audrey ended up going to bed early and getting a long talk from dear old mom about having to put Olivia’s needs before ours sometimes. And how it’s not always going to be like this. That pretty soon we wont have to worry about Livi being to small because she is growing so fast. Even though she was in trouble, we had a good talk.
Like I said, Olivia enjoyed her self. The water was chilly but that didn’t stop her!

In case nobody has noticed, I’ve been behind on my blogging these days. Really behind and even though I’ve been sure to keep up with Olivia’s monthly letters, I feel a little guilty for not documenting more of her first year the way I did with the twins. I know, I know, my life is way different now then it was with them and it’s very hard to find time to do much these days. Well, to do it all any way. But, in the fall when the kids start preschool *sniff* I hope to carve out some time and get back to blogging on a regular basis!
For Mother’s Day weekend, Jon’s parents and grandmother came to visit. It’s become a tradition actually for the 3 of them to come on this weekend. They have done it 4 years in a row! Hope they keep it up! We had a great time, as usual. They got in late that Friday night and about 30 minutes later than they should have. They were driving right along, deep in conversation and they drove right past the road to turn on off the Hwy from Tallahassee and ended up in Bainbridge. Ha! But they got here nonetheless and we had a good laugh about it! We went to church the next morning, out to eat lunch and then Audrey and I jetted to the dance studio for her recital pictures. Now THAT was a crazy time! It’s sort of a small place and there were so many people in there! Some of the older girls were practicing in the studio part and Audrey and some of her little friends stood at the door and watched in awe while us moms waited to see and order our pictures. Audrey did not want to leave. I think she’s gonna get totally into this ballerina stuff! She had her last regular class for the year last Thursday.
Jon and I are going on a little get away down to Orlando next week. Just the two of us. For 3 whole days. AND we are going to Epcot. Yes, with out the children. Don’t judge. You know you are jealous. Anyway, my dear sweet mother in-law is coming to keep the chirren. Audrey’s recital is next Saturday and she was coming for that any way so we figured she wouldn’t mind coming a few days early. I am so glad she doesn’t mind! However, I am new to this whole kids in activities things and it never crossed my mind once when we were planning our trip that Audrey would have a dance rehearsal before a recital. Not once. How dumb am I? Her rehearsal is on Wednesday so SuSu will be in charge of that. I’m a little bummed that I wont be there but my consolation is that it will be a sweet memory for grandmother and granddaughter! especially since they don’t get to be together that often.
