Tookie Baby

I love nicknames for people. In high school I gave a cousin of mine a nickname that he still gets called by, more so than his birth name. I started Bubba and Peach and I am taking the credit for Audge. I just like cute little nicknames, especially for children! One evening, quite a few weeks ago, I was thinking about what I was going to call this little baby while we wait for it's arrival. Mainly because I don't like "it" or "new baby" for the next 7 months. Tookie popped in my head and I loved it. (there is also a back story about a tookie darlin from my fatha-in-law). The next day I told the kids that we were gonna call the baby Tookie and they just thought it was the most hilarious thing they had ever heard! And that just made it all the more perfect! James started saying Tookie Baby so that's what he/she is referred to most of the time. Tookie even makes it into our blessing every night at the supper table!!!

Jon and I got to see Tookie Baby for the first time yesterday! It's been hard for me to believe that it's real for some reason but as soon as I heard that heart beat it became real and for that I am so thankful!!! I can finally relax. Ha. Okay, that's just another pipe dream of mine!! Tookie looked great, has a strong heart beat and the heart rate was 160. When the doctor told us what the heart rate was I said "160, huh?" and He started laughing and said "Now don't go home and start looking up gender heart rates or anything!" I didn't realize I sounded so obvious! Most people say that girls have higher heart rates than boys and that usually holds true. I know it was with James and Audrey. James was usually in the upper 140's while Audrey was in the low to middle 160's. BUT if heart rates were they way to tell us the gender of our babies for sure, then we wouldn't need a sonogram for that! I honestly have no preference at all. Baby girls are so fun to dress up and so cute and sweet but there is just something about little boys that steal a mama's heart like nothing else. So, the only thing I have a preference too is that Tookie is healthy and in one piece when he/she gets here. And even if that's not the case, I'm still gonna love my Tookie Baby to pieces!!! Oh and Tookie also measure's on time for the due date of June 29th that they had given me at my orientation appointment so I am 8 weeks along. I had to have an emergency c-section with the twins so I will have to have a scheduled c-section with Tookie which will be a week before my due date so we are looking at June 22 as the EDA of our precious Tookie Baby.

Okay, that's GUT for "it". Me, too. Never loved to refer to a baby as "it". Fits right in there with Papoopsie Darlins'. So glad you HEARD the heartbeat and it's strong and healthy. Looking forward to another addition to the Mizell family. What a blessed Tookie!
